Tina Cummins, LPC
Hello and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here and taking this step. I look forward to getting to know you and feel truly honored to support you as you begin or continue your therapy journey.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is deeply committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals ages six and older. I have a special passion for supporting children, adolescents, and families, which was shaped through my previous career as a special education EBD teacher. Those experiences continue to guide my belief that every person deserves to feel seen, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.
I specialize in trauma treatment and am Phase I Certified in Brainspotting, integrating neuroscience-informed approaches to help clients process and heal from distressing experiences. I have a special interest in working with individuals who have experienced sexual, emotional, and physical trauma, as well as those struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harm risk, and other high-risk or impulsive behaviors. I also have a strong commitment to supporting individuals affected by human trafficking and those navigating concerns related to gender identity and sexuality.
I work collaboratively with individuals navigating trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and changes in identity or relationships. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. My approach is grounded in empathy, safety, and authentic human connection. I believe healing happens when people feel heard and supported, and I strive to help clients build resilience, rediscover their inner strengths, and create lasting, meaningful change.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. I love kayaking, seeking out waterfalls, enjoying water and snow sports, and playing sand volleyball. I value mindfulness, gratitude, and authentic human connection, and I feel grateful to support others as they discover healing, purpose, and meaning in their lives.
Tina specializes in: working with children 6 years and up, sexual, emotion, and physical trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation/self harm and high-risk behaviors
